We're back from tour! It was loads of fun. Thanks to everyone that put us on, came out to see us, gave us space to sleep, bought our CDs and said they enjoyed it. Also a big thanks to our buddies Liberation Pact.

We'll see you again soon at Orangefest on Saturday 19th, with a host of other Nottingham talent.

The Sound of Giant Amps

We're playing next Saturday 23rd July at Amp-Fest at the Maze in Nottingham, "main support*" on the second stage so around 10ish? That gives you people lots of time to drink before and find your dancing feet.
There's LOADS of bands playing, and it's only £3.. (There's about 30 acts playing, so that's about 10p a band? Even if there's only 3 you like, that's a quid, which in todays 'market'** is still pretty good.)
Facebook event is here.
If you're not sure where the Maze is, it's on Mansfield Road past about 20-odd boarded up hairdressers, by the Cemetery.
Hope to see you there, I think this'll be our last Nottingham show for a bit, as we've played in these parts as much as we can and I imagine you're all sick of us now!
On the other hand, if you're from somewhere else and would like us to play a show, please email us (fresheyesforthedeadguy@googlemail.com) and we'll sort something out!

Thanks
Nicholas

*Not sure this is an actual position, but it makes us feel important for once.
** I have just punched myself in the face for using the term market to describe anything other than a physical collection of retailers of various goods. Like, does anyone know what the 'Stock Market' actually is? I've never known anyone who has seen it. I think it's people buying/selling stuff that DOESN'T ACTUALLY EXIST, like chumps who pay money for swords from World of Warcraft on ebay.

It's sort of like summer, but a bit damper..

Hey all,
Thanks of those of you that turned out to see us at 'On an Island', I think some of the songs from that set we'll keep.
This is a video of one of the songs- warning- something is feedbacking throughout so it sounds a bit disorientating!

Cheers to Paul Lockton for shooting the video!

On An Island

Well, this is pretty exciting- as part of the NotLost Festival, we've been asked to contribute to 'On An Island', some kind of art/music type collision theme! There'll be projections, some set dressing, it'll be ace! Also playing are The Cult of Dom Keller, Grande Duke and The Pariah League.
For it we're composing an entirely new set, based around the theme of 'On an Island'. We've written quite a lot of it so far, I think the subject we've chosen is Evolution and Speciation. If any video artists can knock something up quickly we'd like to hear from you!

The event is on Thursday the 14th July at Spanky Van Dykes. The facebook event is here.

Be good to see some people here, should be a bit different to usual stuff, it's been a bit of a challenge writing an entirely new set!

Nick

The Best Things in Life are Free

Sorry for the lapse in accidentally quoting Luther Van Dross and Janet Jackson.

As a thank you for our fans (I'm hoping we're into using the plural form of the noun here) we've stuck out a free single for you lovely people to download and share.

Blue Harbour was recorded at the Crash Factory at the same time as our track for Notts in Space. It's been in our live set for a while, you may know it from being introduced as a song influenced by a menswear range at Marks and Spencer.*

Please download this and share it with your friends, family and enemies and pets!

Yours
Nick

*I'm a fan of their v-neck jumpers.

The Difference Between Me and Yuri is I'm Notts in Space

Firstly, all the way back in April (still 2011, mind) we took part in a project with some of our buddies to do something a bit different, so we all contributed a specially commissioned space themed track to an EP! You can hear the results on bandcamp.
It was a fun project to do (though having an 11th hour change of mind about the artwork was a bit AARRGGHH but the right decision I think..), and it was great to see so many people at the launch party enjoying themselves!
Anyhow, I'd highly recommend checking it out, but I am very biased.

I'm attempting to link our track below for your listening pleasure!

P.S. some of you know know us quite well or have been keeping tabs on our soundcloud may have noticed the title change of this song! We figured 'A Large Burning Hole in the Ground in the Shape of Bruno Brookes (When You Wish Upon A Death Star)' was just too long a title to fit anywhere.

Laziness and Other Sins.

Oops, so I've been a bit lazy recently. That's what happens when 'real life' gets in the way of being in a band! Gonna be doing a few updates this week, so keep yr eyes peeled!

We've had some fun in the past few months though, Notts in Space was a heap of fun!
If you missed out on it, the trailer for it is below! You can still get the CD or download though, we've contributed a track to it!. The trailer for it (pieced together by our own Tom Stratford) is here!

We've also started playing a bit further afield, notably some memorable gigs in Ipswich (Si chucking up into a pint glass onstage. Twice.) and Brighton (Spending £££ in 2p machines on the pier the day after... ) If you'd like to offer us a gig, or fancy a gigswap please email us or attack us via our twitter.

Happy New Year!

Hey all, firstly we'd like to wish you all a Happy New Year!

2011 eh? Sounds dead futuristic doesn't it? That said, with it being so dark at the moment, cold rain and oddballs with bleached hair, it is starting to resemble Blade Runner a bit round these parts.

Last weekend we finally finished mixing our new EP, and will be mastering it next week, exciting times. It's sounding pretty snazzy, and are looking forward to letting you guys hear it.
We've also been working on some new songs, and hope to debut them on the 30th January where we'll be playing the Jam Cafe with Axis Of, Alright the Captain and Sofakings! More details on this as we know them!
